This Privacy Policy explains how PetAider collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects information when you use our websites, mobile applications, and related services (collectively, the Service).

1. Who we are

PetAider ("we", "us", "our") provides pet-care planning tools across web and mobile.

Privacy contact: support@petaider.com

2. What we mean by personal information

Personal information means information about an identifiable individual.

Pet-related data can be personal information if linked to an identifiable account owner or caregiver.

3. Information we collect

Information you provide: account details, pet profile details, assessment and wellness inputs, uploads, and support communications.

Information collected automatically: device and usage events, session and security telemetry, IP-derived approximate location, crash and performance diagnostics.

Information from third parties: payment/subscription status events from processors or app stores, and profile signals from sign-in providers you authorize.

4. How we use information

Provide and maintain the Service, including account management, pet profiles, assessments, wellness guidance, reminders, and follow-up continuity.

Operate and improve reliability, quality, and user experience.

Protect security, prevent abuse and fraud, and enforce our terms and policies.

Respond to support requests and service communications.

Comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

Generate aggregated or de-identified insights to improve model and product quality; no de-identification process is perfect.

5. Legal bases and consent

Where required by law, we rely on contractual necessity, consent, legitimate interests, and legal obligations, as applicable.

Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw consent, but some features may no longer function.

6. How we disclose information

We do not sell personal information.

We disclose data to service providers that operate hosting, storage, authentication, analytics/diagnostics, communications, and payments, under confidentiality and data-protection obligations.

We disclose caregiver-shared pet information only when you initiate sharing and can revoke sharing through the Service.

We may disclose information for legal/safety reasons and in connection with business transfers, as permitted by law.

7. International data transfers

We and our service providers may process data in Canada and other countries where we or our providers operate.

Where required, we apply appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers under applicable law.

8. Data retention

We retain data as reasonably necessary for service delivery, continuity, security, legal compliance, and dispute resolution.

Account and pet-care data is retained while your account remains active and until deletion is requested, subject to legal and security exceptions.

Residual backup copies may persist for a limited period and expire according to backup retention schedules.

9. Security

We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including access controls, encryption in transit, logging and monitoring, secure development practices, and vendor security requirements appropriate to risk.

No transmission or storage method is 100% secure. We respond to incidents under applicable law, including notification obligations where required.

10. Your rights and choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, object to, or restrict certain processing of your data.

To exercise rights, contact support@petaider.com. We may verify identity before completing requests.

11. Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies necessary to operate and secure the Service, including authentication and session management.

If we introduce non-essential analytics or advertising technologies, we will provide notice and choices as required by law.

12. Children

The Service is intended for adults and caregivers.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the age defined by applicable law) without required authorization.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time.

Material changes are reflected by the Last updated date and version, and may be accompanied by additional notice in-product where appropriate.
